Megan Whittington

Megan Whittington was hired as Executive Director of the Oakville Arts Council in December 2006. Having attended an arts school since the age of ten, Megan holds over 25 years of training in the arts
and a BA Specialist Degree in Theatre from the University of Toronto
. Key roles and responsibilities at the Oakville Arts Council include: strategic leadership and planning; organizational effectiveness and administration; fund-raising and business development; financial management and staff development and recognition. With over 11 years experience as an administrative leader in the not-for-profit arts sector, Megan’s past experience includes being the Development Director for the Mississauga Arts Council, working with Foundations and soliciting Corporate Donations for the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and building Partnerships and Sponsorships for the Canadian Opera Company. She enjoys participating in community theatre, as well as writing and performing her own music.

Bernadette Ward is the Communications Director and Editor of the Arts About Town magazine. She is a graduate of Sheridan College's Journalism Program and has worked as Assistant Editor of The Halton Compass, Staff Reporter with Inside Oakville and Oakville Today, and as a freelancer for The Oakville Beaver and The Milton Canadian Champion. She is a skilled photographer and is experienced in the development of both print and electronic publications. Key roles and responsibilities include: Internal/external publications, promotions, communications, media relations; development of communications/marketing strategies and tracking of accurate statistics on various communications.
Bernadette has been with the Oakville Arts Council since 2005.

Pamela’s key roles and responsibilities for the Oakville Arts Council include: managing the Membership; coordinating and communicating Oakville Arts Council member events (Creative Connections, workshops, AGM); research, data entry, filing; website calendar management; invoices and banking; volunteer management.
