INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS: INDIVIDUALS/COLLECTIVES

The Oakville Arts Council invites individual artists and arts collectives to submit applications for grant funding through the Artist Project Fund. These funds are a secondary stream of the Cultural Grants Program which is funded by the Town of Oakville.

The program is intended to support the creation and delivery of projects expressed through a wide range of artistic disciplines including visual, music/performing, literary, digital and heritage arts generated by emerging, established and professional artists and arts collectives residing within Oakville.

Applications

Applications for funding for organizations open in the spring of each year, typically April. Deadlines for applications will be published in our weekly e-news. It is highly recommended that you join as a member or subscriber so that you do not miss the deadlines.

The deadline for 2026 Artist Project Fund applications is:

MAY 15, 2026 @ MIDNIGHT. LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

If this is your first time applying for funding from this program, or if you have not applied in the previous year(s), please review the eligibility criteria before applying. Here is a link to the 2026 AFP presentation.

Application Process

1. Become a subscriber or member of the OAC to ensure you receive information about the grants deadlines.
   
2. Attend the annual information session which is usually held in June.
3. Review the eligibility criteria.
4. Create an account in the grants portal at oac.amsnetwork.ca. Be sure to fill out as much information as possible including social media links and website information.
5. When the grant application becomes available, complete the application. 
6. Ensure that ALL requested documentation is submitted by the deadline. Failure to provide requested information will result in a declined application.

1. January: Grants Info Session
2. March: Final Reports
3. April: Application Deadline
4. June: Grant Letters sent
5. June Return of Signed Contracts
6. June/July: Release of Grant Cheques
